This game would determine which teams finished 7th in the tournament and which 8th. Within seconds after the tip off No. 2 Sakura of the Tigers made the first field goal, a 3-pointer. Despite seven turnovers, the Tigers held the lead to half time, 7 - 6. In the second half both teams had ball handling problems and lost the ball to the other side many times during the first two minutes. Then No. 24 Co May Nguyen made an impressive lay-up while being fouled, and this put the Tigers ahead 9-6. The UNIS Phoenix and the ISPP Falcons faced off on the front court at the MRISA tournament on Saturday at 2:00pm. The game was a very speedy game with fast counterattacks and quick transitions after baskets. It was a tense and aggressive game with #15 from UNIS suffering an injury after being pushed on top of another team member during a scramble for a loose ball. At half time UNIS was leading 8-7, and it looked to be a tight match into the second half. Several timeouts from ISPP in the second half allowed them to develop their fast counterattacks. Easy lay ups served ISSP well and the came back from a 5 point deficit. From that point, ISPP continued to score consistently and UNIS struggled to put the ball in the hoop. ISPP point guard, #18, led all scores with 9 points. By the end of the game ISPP had developed an insurmountable lead and won the game 21-11 to take home the plate. Reporters: Tina and Moji
