At the MRISA tournament (Vientiane International School, Vientiane, Laos) on Friday morning, November 20 at 10am, the United Nations International School (UNIS) of Hanoi had a game against Northern Bridge International school of Cambodia (NISC). In the first half, UNIS scored 4 while NISC scored 5. In the second half of the game, UNIS pulled away and won with the score 15-5. A surprising part of the game was the good ball control. In the whole game, there was only one loose-ball scramble.The first field goal was scored after 10 minutes and 7 seconds into the half. Halves are 12 minutes long. It was a low scoring but good game.
In the fourth game of the Friday afternoon MRISA tournament, the Saigon South International School’s girls won over the International School of Phnom Penh’s girls by 3 points. Player #40 of SSIS was the high scorer with 10 points. She was very good at making shots from 3-point line and from closer distances. Player #18 led ISPP with 8 points. She was also very good at shooting. Her dribbling and speed was also excellent. In an extremely close and exciting game, SSIS scored at the finish to hold off the ISPP Falcons.
In the second game of the Friday afternoon MRISA tournament the International School Ho Chi Minh City’s boys won over Vientiane International School’s boys by 5 points. Alex from ISHCMC scored the most. He was good at shooting, also for Henri, from ISHCMC, was good at passing and had much energy. For VIS are Max and David scored the most and made some shots from the 3-point line. VIS fell behind 20-3 at half time. They made a tremendous effort to catch up in the second half but HCMC held on to win 28-23.
At the MRISA tournament (Vientiane International School, Vientiane, Laos) on Friday, November 20 at 4:30pm, the International Vientiane International school (VIS) had a game against United Nations International school (UNIS). In the first half, the VIS boys scored 5 while UNIS boys scored 16, in the second half, UNIS won with a score of 28-15. The surprising highlight of the game is that VIS have shot and scored twice, but for the wrong team. The well played game was enjoyed by all the spectators.
The lunchtime game between the girls of ISE Eagles and UNIS Phoenix on Friday at the MRISA tournament in Vientiane had the Eagles coming out on top with a 11-3 final. In the end the UNIS girls couldn’t contain #3 from ISE. Brina (#3) scored 9 of the 11 Eagles points and helped the ISE team run away with the game.
The 1:30 pm game for the VIS and ISHCMC boys at the MRISA tournament on Friday was a close fought match that was in doubt until the very end. When the final buzzer sounded ISHCMC had prevailed with a score of 28-23. Both teams played hard and clean in a game with few fouls called. But in the end, the VIS Dragons couldn’t contain the skills of #99, Alex, from ISHCMC. He led all scorers with 14 points, scoring half of the Rhinos total.
In a tight, high scoring game on Friday afternoon, at the MRISA tournament in Vientiane, the boys of UNIS topped the team from UNIS. 31-25 was the final score of the match. Ruben was the leading scorer for UNIS with 11 points. David was the leading scorer for ISPP. ISPP got into trouble with fouls and the difficulty had an impact on the outcome of the game.
The Friday 3:30 pm girls’ basketball game at the MIRSA tournament was a strong match between two careful teams of ball handlers. In the end the VIS Dragons prevailed over the Phoenix of UNIS. There were very few fouls in the game which indicated how carefully the girls played. The strong play of the Dragons allowed them to pull away in the end and win 14-6.
At the MRISA tournament (Vientiane International School, Vientiane, Laos) on Friday, November 20 at 9am, the International School Ho Chi Minh city (ISHCMC) had a game against Saigon South International School (SSIS). In the first half, the ISHCMC girls scored 7 while SSIS girls scored 5, in the second half, ISHCMC pulled away and won with a score of 21 -17. The surprising highlight of the game is that there were more than at least 4 loose-ball scrambles in the first half and approximately 10 loose-ball scrambles by the end of the game. The game was really enjoyable and exciting because both teams put a lot of effort toward their goal to win, which made them try really hard. The first score was made 41 seconds into the game, which was surprisingly fast. The well played game was enjoyed by all the spectators.
On Friday at 12:30 pm, on the backcourt of Vientiane International School, the VIS girls vs NISC basketball game was a very interesting match up. There was a very good half court trap by Ava and Charlotte from VIS, but Miscommunication from the coaches made VIS lose one point at the beginning of the match. There were many fouls for NISC and many passes in play. Many shots where put up during the game but many of them were missed. Many opportunities occurred during the very entertaining game of basketball. The score at half time was six for VIS girls and two for the NISC Nagas. After a very long second half, the VIS Dragons ended the game with an 18-2 score in their favor.
